HORMONE PELLET INSERTION Woodbury, MN
HORMONE PELLET INSERTION
Provided by KATE COOPER, RN
At the Med Spa, our hormone replacement therapy uses pellets to deliver hormone replacement therapy into the body. Pellet therapy has helped thousands of patients look and feel their best. The pellet insertion process is straightforward, fast, and simple.
These pellets contain bioidentical hormones compounded in quality-controlled facilities located in the U.S. Pellets are inserted subcutaneously in the upper buttocks. They are made of custom-compounded hormones and binders that hold them together. Every batch of hormones is tested for potency, sterility, and endotoxins, ensuring that patients are provided the best possible therapy to expedite their journey towards optimal wellness.
First you should schedule an office visit to have your hormone levels tested. Then, based on a comprehensive consultation and extensive lab work, Dr. Ulland, will determine if you are a candidate for hormone replacement therapy and if so, refer you to booking your pellet insertion appointment. Custom pellet therapy insertion will take place during a quick follow-up appointment with Kate Cooper, RN.
The process is simple:
1. Once Dr. Ulland has reviewed your Lab Results, he will ask you to Schedule Pellet Insertion appointment
2. Book your Pellet insertion with Kate Cooper
3. Have Pellet Inserted during your Appointment
4. Come back for Post-pellet labs
*Pellets typically last 3-4 months for women and 6 months for men, providing long-lasting relief from symptoms.

FAQs
-
Pellets are small, plant-based hormone implants that are placed under the skin to mimic the body's natural hormone levels. Pellets are about the size of a large grain of rice, or less than 1 cm in size. They are inserted into the fatty tissue under the skin, usually in the hip or buttock area.
-
A healthcare professional performs a quick in-office procedure to numb the insertion site, usually the upper buttocks, and implant the pellets.
They are inserted into the fatty tissue under the skin, usually in the hip or buttock area.

After insertion, most patients don't feel the pellets, but some may feel a small bump at the insertion site for a short time. Swelling at the insertion site is normal and usually goes away within 24 hours. To reduce swelling, patients are advised to limit gluteal exercises for 72 hours after insertion for women and 7 days for men.
Some patients may experience mild side effects like acne, facial hair, or hair thinning, but these are usually easily treated.

Every person’s body is different, but at the end of a pellet cycle or when stopping pellet therapy altogether, symptoms of fatigue, low mood and sleeplessness may recur. Typically, the patient’s symptoms will return to the same state prior to BHRT as their estrogen and testosterone levels begin to drop.
